Q: Where can I learn more about Digital TV?

A: The Australian Government has spent a great deal of time and resources to ensure Australia's Digital TV service is amongst the best in the world. To learn more about what Digital TV can do please visit: http://www.dbcde.gov.au/media_broadcasting/television/

Q: Why is the time wrong?

A: The time stamp is delivered by the televison stations and some times this data is incorrectly sent by the television stations when the same digital program is broadcast to different regions. This is not a fault with your Set-Top Box.

Q: Why cant I set the time in my Set-Top Box?

A:
The time info is delivered by the television stations and this is designed to ensure the time on your set-top box is always correct, to avoid porgramming errors you can not manually change the time setting.

Q: Why is the signal low?

A:
The Digital television transmission signal is different from Analogue television and in some cases this can cause a low signal on your Set-Top Box. If you do not have a recently installed Digital TV antenna you should have a professional antenna installer check your antenna to ensure it is receiving the correct signal. For more information please visit http://www.acma.gov.au/webwr/_assets/main/lib101071/digitaltv.pdf

Q: What are the white diagonal dots on the screen?

A:
White diagonal dots on your TV screen is an indication of low signal strength. This may occur if you are in a low or excessivly high digital TV signal area or if your antenna or antenna cable is delivering a low signal to the set-top box. Please refer to the "Why is the signal low?" question above.

Q. How do I access the full menu system?

A:
In order to access the full menu system on the HDV-2500, the unit must be set to the following resolution 576i.  Resolution of the set-top box is changed by pressing the small 'res' button on top of the remote next to the power button.  Each time the resolution is changed, the set-top box will appear to shutdown.  This is part of the resolution change procedure.  Each time the unit reboots, the resolution is displayed on the screen on the right side of the unit.  Once you have changed the resolution to 576i, all menu functions will now be available.

PLEASE NOTE:
On the rear of the unit, there is a switch which reads 'VGA<->YpbPr'.  The switch must be set to YpbPr in order to access the menu system.
